The Challenge

E-Shodhan faced multiple operational and technical limitations due to its ageing Blogger infrastructure:

  • Blogger restricted scalability, customisation, and structured content management.
  • The publication’s unique “Issues” workflow could not be properly supported using standard blogging tools.
  • The platform lacked mobile applications, REST API infrastructure, and cross-platform content synchronisation.
  • Branding and UI quality did not reflect the credibility expected from a modern regional news platform.
  • No modern reader engagement features existed, including push notifications, bookmarking, search, or dark mode support.
  • A critical technical blocker emerged when the chosen WordPress Issues plugin provided no REST API access, preventing mobile integration.

Overall, the client required a scalable publishing ecosystem rather than a simple website migration.
